this is NOT a weight loss blog

22 Mar

This post will be short and to the point. What I will never suggest is weight loss as a goal of being healthy. Why? Because the two will never mean the same thing. Oh as an effect of being healthy you may acquire weight loss, but t doesn’t work the other way around. You can lose weight taking dangerous pills, starving yourself, smoking crack, excessive exercise, STRESS, eating junk food (yes contrary to popular belief you can lose weight eating food lacking nutritional value), overworking, having surgery, having kids, etc, etc, etc. I could go on and on but I have a screaming one year old vying for my attention right now.

I just wanted to make things clear that I vouch for activity, not numbers on a scale. As a matter of fact my scale is used as a placeholder in my bathroom. It makes it easier to reach things when I can’t get up, if you know what I mean. Fitness does not equal skinny, or a BMI number, your pants/dress size, bra size, weight. It is how well you are able to accomplish the physical tasks you do in a day. It is your energy level. It is your metabolism. It is your bodily functions and regulations. It is mental clarity. It is living as stress free as possible, and if your weight is ALWAYS on your mind, then in my book you are FAR from healthy. It is so much more than WEIGHT!

You don’t need to be skinny to be to do the things mentioned above. If anyone says otherwise, ask them why so many normal weight people still haven’t manged to achieve those results. Now excuse me while I attend to my bay bay.
